Why does LendLock need Screen Time access?

Locking another app is something only iOS itself can do, and Screen Time is the system that does it. Granting access lets LendLock apply and remove those locks. It's your own device's authorization, it stays on the device, and LendLock never reads your usage history.

Do notifications still come through from locked apps?

No. While an app is locked by LendLock, iOS suppresses its notifications too, so a borrowed phone doesn't buzz with your messages. Everything returns to normal the moment you unlock.

What if Face ID fails, or I forget my LendLock code?

If you haven't set a custom code, you can always fall back to your iPhone passcode. If you have set one and you forget it, deleting LendLock removes every lock it applied and returns your apps to normal — you'll just need to set your apps up again afterwards.

Can someone change my settings while they're holding my phone?

Not if you turn on Settings lock. With it on, every change — swapping setups, editing the app list, changing your code, even turning the lock back off — asks for Face ID or your LendLock code first. Each change is authorized individually; there's no window where the app is left unlocked.

What's the difference between “block” and “allow only”?

Block these apps locks the apps you pick and leaves everything else working — good for handing your phone to your kid. Only allow these apps flips it: everything is locked except the few you choose — good for a stranger who needs to make one call. Each setup keeps its own separate list for the two styles, so switching never mixes them up.

Why can't I block Settings, Phone, or Health?

Apple exempts a few built-in apps from every app that uses the Screen Time framework — LendLock and all others alike. Settings, Phone, and Health can't be locked: iOS never lets a third-party app cut off emergency calling, access to Medical ID, or the ability to administer the device itself. They won't appear in the app picker, and "only allow these apps" leaves them reachable too.

If you need those constrained on a child's device, use Apple's own tools alongside LendLock: Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions with a Screen Time passcode locks down changes in Settings, and Guided Access (triple-click the side button) pins the device to a single app for short hand-overs.

Does it work on iPad?

Yes. LendLock runs on iPhone and iPad, iOS/iPadOS 17 or later. A common setup is to install it on a child's iPad, choose which apps are allowed, and turn on Settings lock so it can't be changed.

What do I get with LendLock Pro?

The free version locks whole app categories. Pro is a one-time $4.99 purchase that adds exact app selection, multiple saved setups, and allow-only mode. There's no subscription, and it's shared through Family Sharing — one purchase covers your household's devices.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Open LendLock, reach the Pro screen, and tap Restore Purchases. As long as you're signed in with the same Apple Account (or you're in the same Family Sharing group), Pro will be restored at no charge.
